Successful Twitter marketing in 2022 isn’t as difficult as it might seem.
Many people think marketing on Twitter is difficult due to the oversaturation of niches and competition.
In reality, it just takes a little motivation and discipline to get your page out there.
Twitter is one of the best networks for text-based content, and many people are missing out on that opportunity. Are you? I know I’ve had a ton of success with it and have even become one of the more well-known brands in my particular niche.
This article will look at five ways to do successful Twitter marketing for our brands.
Successful Twitter Marketing 1: Engagement
Twitter is an engagement machine!
You’ll have to spend time on the network talking to other people.
Engagement is about talking – that is what engagement means.
Engagement is commenting on Tweets of other people in your community and niche. It’s replying to everyone commenting on your content. It’s retweeting content. It’s liking content. It’s sending direct messages and developing relationships.
Engagement is social, and since Twitter is a social network, that is the best practice.
The best way to develop loyal fans and followers is to engage with them. Don’t just post and run. Don’t just like. Talk to your people. They want to talk to you.
You can automate many things. We’ll go into that below. But it would be best if you didn’t automate engagement. That is the area you should spend the most time on.
Build a community with your Twitter page.
Successful Twitter Marketing 2: Consistency
If you want successful Twitter marketing results, you must master consistency.
The term “Consistency” confuses many people.
Many believe it means you have to post and never miss a beat doing it continuously.
That’s not true.
Consistency means you do something in a way that makes the repetition understood by what is watching you do it.
In content marketing terms, you are posting on a regular committed basis so that search engines, algorithms, and people know when you will deliver content.
So, you don’t have to tweet 20 times a day. You don’t have to tweet once a day. But whatever you decide to do, you should be consistent about it.
On my main outdoor brand, I tweet three times a day. I post a question in the morning. I will post a video in the afternoon. I then post some photos or a web link in the evening. I might also do some retweeting of other peoples’ content in between.
I do that structure every single day. I’ve made it easy to do by automating it. I use Buffer, which is a premium social media scheduling system. There are other tools out there to choose from based on your needs.
Experiment with how often you post, too. It won’t hurt your marketing efforts. It is better to experiment and find consistency than go with the first thing.
I will say that the more you post, the more attention you’ll get. I would at least post once a day, but a few times a day might be better.
As I said, experiment with it, and that’s how successful Twitter marketing happens.
Successful Twitter Marketing 3: Threads
Twitter is the best social network platform for text-based content. People who get on Twitter are people who want to read things.
The Thread Feature is a beautiful feature on Twitter. And threads are getting more and more popular as time goes on.
The Thread Feature allows you to create an initial Tweet with replies attached to it. You can add the primary tweet and the replies before you submit it. This is great for telling a story, guiding someone, or listing things.
Consider the Thread Feature as if it is a micro-article tweet.
Twitter is a micro-blog, after all.
I use threads to repurpose my articles in micro-form. For example, I’ll create a thread for this article and make each of the five sections a Tweet focusing on the critical tip of each section.
That is what makes people want to read a thread.
Your threads should be exciting, feature-packed, and readable. It should be the best content that you can produce.
Many successful Twitter marketing gurus suggest you at least create a new weekly thread. I’ve seen accounts post one thread daily and get much success from it.
It comes down to your time spent on Twitter.
Like I said above, experiment and find your thread posting consistency.
Successful Twitter Marketing 4: Media
Media will usually get the most views, replies, and retweets.
I’m talking about videos and photos.
People love images and videos.
We love colors and moving objects. We love visual appeal.
When posting media, make sure the thumbnails or photos look amazing. You want them to stand out so people stop the scroll and check out your content.
This is why a video and a photo tweet are 2 of 3 pieces of content I tweet daily. Because people enjoy watching videos and looking at photos, this is especially true for my main niche, outdoor recreation.
Text-based content still has its place on Twitter, and it probably always will.
But media on social media is exploding, and you need to jump on that bandwagon before you miss out.
Successful Twitter Marketing 5: Relationships
I talked about relationship building in the engagement portion of this article.
But I want to go a little deeper into the topic and how it can bring you successful Twitter marketing results in a brief period.
Relationship building is essential.
It’s how you get followers. It’s how you turn regular followers into loyal followers. It’s how you get fans. It’s how you get customers and make sales.
You need to be developing relationships as frequently as possible.
I suggest you do two things.
First, reply to everyone who comments on your tweets, even if it is a like or an emoji. Make sure you respond to them, so they know you acknowledge their activity on your tweets. A worded reply will be better than an emoji.
Secondly, every new follower should be seen as a potential best friend. Follow them back if they also post content and want to be followed. You don’t need to follow them back if they don’t post content. But you should reach out to them and thank them for following you. Do this by direct message. Once they reply, start a conversation. Don’t try to sell here. Try to build a friendship.
Following these two simple tasks will help you master relationship building and get successful Twitter marketing results afterward.
