Storm Chasing
Welcome to my page on Storm Chasing. Yes, I am one of those guys you see behind, in front and sometimes driving almost into tornadoes. I have been chasing storms for a little over 10 years now but have really gotten more into it within the past 5 years or so. I am also a SKYWARN Storm Spotter which is a volunteer who spots tornadoes and other severe weather and reports it so that people can get quicker warning if possible. SKYWARN is free and all ages can become members.
I chase storms for many different reasons. I think tornadoes and severe weather is mysterious and beautiful. I don’t like or hope for death and destruction but since we can not stop it from happening, I choose to chase it and learn first hand about it rather than be scared of it and hide, that’s just me! I chase for the thrill as well just like any other storm chaser. I have recently been getting into photography and video with storm chasing but I am a complete n00b at it and am not doing anything too professional (like selling footage) at this time. And finally I chase to help warn of it when I can, if I can help you get to a safe place and survive, then I feel like I am serving a purpose on this Earth!
